Abstract

In the contemporary economic landscape, the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) represents not only a barometer of the health of the national economy, but also the main pillar of financing and transparency for elite Romanian companies. After more than three decades since its re-establishment in 1995, the Romanian capital market has evolved from an early stage to the status of an Emerging Market (according to the FTSE Russell indices), becoming a vital ecosystem where investor capital meets entrepreneurial vision. This paper analyzes the dynamics of some Romanian companies on the stock market, exploring how listing has transformed large state structures into efficient entities (such as those in the energy sector) and how private companies in the industrial sector use the stock exchange for regional expansion. In a period marked by global volatility, Romanian companies listed on the BVB have demonstrated resilience, offering attractive returns through dividends and strengthening the confidence of individual and institutional investors. Understanding the mechanisms by which these companies operate on the stock exchange is essential for any modern economic analysis of Romania.
