The History of the Romanian Currency
Abstract
From the precious coins of Greek and Roman civilizations, on which divine faces were represented, to modern plastic banknotes, the course of the coin was long and diversified, and the Romanian leu does not rebate from this description, having a tumultuous history, being affected by inflation, monetary stabilizations and denominations.
The Romanian leu is a monetary unit, but also a symbol of national stability and pride, a tangible result of the ideal of independence and unity, always manifested by the Romanian people. The study of the Romanian leu is not only an economic analysis, but represents an amazing journey into the identity and evolution of the Romanian people over time.
