The Dimensions of Communication and its Influence in Social Relations
Abstract
Communication in modern society is a complex and multidimensional process involving a number of interconnected factors. We can identify as dimensions of communication the interpersonal dimension, the social dimension, the media dimension, the technological dimension, the intercultural dimension. It is important to note that these dimensions of communication are not independent but interrelated.
Elements such as expressing emotions, active listening, empathy, feedback and conflict resolution are essential for building and maintaining solid and lasting relationships.
Understanding the dimensions of communication in modern society is essential to being an effective communicator. Also, being aware of the complexity of communication can help people improve their communication skills and build solid relationships on an organizational, personal or social level. The norms and rules of communication specific to each culture, the influence of mass media, propaganda, political communication, artificial intelligence and virtual reality are issues that will be developed in this paper.
