Advantages of Export Promotion Policy in Rural Agriculture and Factors Influencing It
Abstract
Rural agriculture is considered a vital strategic sector within the economy. Thus, ensuring foodsecurity is directly dependent on the continuous development of rural agriculture. Particularlyin developing countries, and especially for oil-exporting nations, the role of rural agriculture issignificantly elevated concerning the development of the non-oil sector and the implementationof alternative export policies. In light of these factors, the implementation of export promotionpolicies in rural agriculture holds a distinct significance. Export promotion policy in ruralagriculture aims to stimulate exporters domestically and provide practical assistance toagricultural producers internationally, thereby increasing the volume of exported agriculturalproducts. Generally, the success of export promotion policy is directly linked to theimplementation of trade policies and the enhancement of business attractiveness within thecountry. The experiences of developed countries demonstrate that measures directed towardsexport promotion, such as providing export credits to producers and offering necessaryguarantees, reflect positively on increasing the volume of purchases within the country and thusboosting economic activity.Several factors influence the promotion of exports in rural agriculture, with the development ofthe non-oil sector being of paramount importance. This is particularly crucial for countriesspecializing in the export of petroleum products, as it plays a significant role in ensuringeconomic security.In developing countries, the promotion of rural agricultural exports is vital in stimulatingeconomic development. Therefore, this article discusses the distinct advantages of exportpromotion policy in rural agriculture. It is noted that export promotion policy possesses uniqueadvantages compared to import substitution policy, primarily due to its facilitation of favorableconditions for attracting foreign investments and fostering a free competitive environment.
These factors collectively create favorable conditions for agricultural entities engaged in export-oriented production within rural agriculture.
