Non-governmental Organizations and their Role in Humanitarian Actions to Protect the Civilian Population. The Involvement of Amnesty International in the Conflict in Ukraine
Abstract
The dynamics of international relations experienced an unprecedented magnitude starting with the 20th century and was largely due to the economic, social and political changes occurring among the states of the world. The concept of welfare, social, collective security and the right to a decent living has contributed to the valorization of these ideas all over the world, the process being triggered, mainly, within the wealthier societies of the West. Today, the social involvement of the international community is no longer limited to relations between states, on the contrary, both commercial companies and international organizations, be they non-governmental or intergovernmental, are involved in maintaining a security environment in international relations.
