Corporate Governance in the Era of COVID-19
Abstract
In the context of profound changes in the world economy as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, corporate governance plays an important role in maximizing performance and increasing credibility for investors. The emergence of new risks and the amplification of existing ones causes the economic environment to comply with the corporate governance requirement for the evaluation, monitoring and improvement of the risk management process. In the framework of this research, we propose, on the one hand, to present the conceptual approaches of corporate governance and, on the other hand, to analyze the degree of compliance of Romanian companies with the requirements of corporate governance. Moreover, we followed the way in which the pandemic changed the optics of companies regarding compliance with corporate governance requirements. The research results show that during the analyzed period, 2016-2021, the degree of compliance in Romania with corporate governance requirements registered a very small increase.Published
