Abstract

The Green Deal is the future development priority for Europe. Besides curbing carbon emissions and mitigating climate change, the Europeans need to adjust to the new realities with resilience and awareness (Abban et al., 2023; Khan et al., 2023; Nuta, 2008; Nuta, 2011). In order to follow the new development pathways, education plays a critical role (Jiang et al., 2023). Several priorities affecting citizens' everyday lives were recognized as of utmost importance for the future. The transition to renewable energy or eliminating inequalities and structural gaps between European countries and between different citizens are just some of these policy options. The study aims to review these policy options and the level of implementation. At the same time, an objective is to assess the formal and informal education's role in raising the awareness level among Europeans.
